ACCESS

All Saints', Harston

Harston access: Image

We want to be able to make everyone feel welcome at All Saints' and fundraised hard to make improvements to the building to help make this possible.

We have a lavatory that is accesible to wheelchair users. It also has space and facilities for changing your baby's nappy.

In 2021 we removed all of the pews in the body of the church and replaced them with chairs. This means that visitors who use wheelchairs and families with prams can sit whereever they like in church.

There are two steps down to get into church, a 10cm step to enter the porch and a smaller, 6cm step at the church door. We have a 20cm ramp that helps those with wheels to navigate the larger drop. Inside the church, there are two steps going up from the body of the church (the nave) to the high altar. This area of the church is normally only used for distributing communion and the priest will bring communion to your place if you are unable to use these steps.

We have some large print prayer and hymn books for those with impaired vision; please ask the sidesperson when you arrive if you would find these helpful.

Those leading and speaking at services use microphones for voice amplification which assists those with impaired hearing.

We want everyone to feel welcome and so please let us know if there is anything we can do to help with your visit to All Saints'.
