Reading: John 14: 18-23

‘I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them.’ Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, ‘Lord, how is it that you will reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?’ Jesus answered him, ‘Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

From Beth :

We are coming to the end of our Lenten journey. We have ridden into Jerusalem with Christ, into a world turned upside down. We share his anguish at what lies before before him. We share the confusion and fear of his disciples. But we have the bigger picture, that in God's faithfulness, we do indeed, morning by morning, see new mercies and the bright hope for tomorrow.

Loving Father, we too are living in a world turned upside down, help us to stand firm in the belief that, in the hour of our need, you will never desert us.

God of grace and mercy we rejoice in your love and give thanks that you accept the poor devotion of our lives. Help us to be like Christ your Son, who loved the world and died for our salvation.

Inspire us by his love, guide us by his example, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and through all Eternity. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
