Health and Safety update
Bishop of Huntingdon’s advice for worship:
• Wearing of face coverings by all those attending a place of worship, including ministers and worshippers, where there may be other people present is mandatory. There are exemptions to this, including for those leading a service.
• There is an exemption from the Government’s gathering limits that covers places of worship making it possible for more people to gather for acts of communal worship. There is no numerical limit on other communal worship services, subject to physical distancing and Public Health requirements being met.
• The two-metre ‘rule’ applies for communal worship and the church must be well-ventilated.
• Singing by the congregation is currently not permitted indoors but can go ahead outdoors in the grounds of the church.
Compline on Tuesdays
Compline will take place in St Margaret’s Newton from 7.30-8.00 pm each Tuesday.
The churches are open again for baptisms, please do contact Rev’d Susan if you would like your child or children to be baptised, there is no age limit!
Weekend 18-19 September
Please save the date of the weekend of 18-19 September this year for All Saints’ Church Harston Restoration Exhibition and Harvest celebrations.
The institution and induction of the Revd Kathryn Waite to the incumbency of St Mary’s Sawston and St Peter’s Babraham will be taking place on 22 June at 7.00 pm, live streamed.
Harston Churchyard Tidy
Many thanks to all who helped with a churchyard clearing morning at Harston recently. The churchyard clearance is a project still in progress, there is more to do.
Rev’d Susan works part time as assistant priest for Harston, Hauxton and Newton, and for the other three days is studying towards an MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission.
This year is her last MA year and whilst working on her dissertation (which finishes in September) she intends to work Monday. Thursday and Sunday on Parish work. Outside these times she will not be routinely answering emails.
However, the best way to contact is by email firstname.lastname@example.org
